What began as just another semi-incoherent, half-formed, grandiose idea one drunken evening many months ago, became a real happening on August 12th, due in no small part to Josh “Hollywood.”
Hollywood, who turns 14 next year, really took the reigns with this one, planning the event, designing a series of promotional posters, ghostwriting an avant garde faux blog dedicated to headwear, and daily one-person flash mobs in the mosh pit where he would often be seen standing up from his chair and reminding us that Hackathon was on Friday. Genius. This integrated, 360 campaign created a level of buzz and anticipation that hitherto had not been seen in these parts since we got kettle corn that one Tuesday and everybody liked it alot. Really delicious.
In all seriousness though, while everybody kicked ass, Hollywood deserves an extra-special shout for putting it all together and making it happen.
As part of her work release program with DK, Ashley decided to give back to the community in the form of street art. And thus, Party Animal was born.
And so it was, early on Friday night; fuelled by a combination of Rainier and wheat paste, she and Demetre (aka Li’l Snacker) took to the streets and alleys of Capitol Hill with an army of Party Animals waiting to be set free.
Just know, the next time you’re thinking of doing something debauched in the Pike/Pine corridor, Party Animal is watching… urging you to make a decision you’ll immediately regret.
